Lust color theory from the Divine Light Series: Blue is the color associated with lust which is the color of the ocean that is all-encompassing.  The color blue for lust has its roots from the first porno, sex, movies that were called, blue films. Back in the days of the French revolution the pornographers and the the prostitutes worked out of the Palace Royal for a while, and that was where all the pornography was written. All the paper in the Palace Royale was intended to be used for writing contracts. It was blue paper. Thus, all pornography was written on blue paper. The name comes from this event.

Lust can also be applied to otherworldly desires and possessions such as power or wealth that blind the believer to the path of righteousness.
